ANOTHER DAY

8 AM – up at 715, put on coffee, S has gone for a walk. it i gray out again, clouds and cool but no rain. the sky is plagued with impotence too, it seems, clouds and cool and wind, all the right circumstances but the words rain just won’t fall.

i sip my coffee and read. the book I am reading is ‘double or nothing’ by raymond federman. i have never read a book like this. every page is chaos, text everywhere in different shapes and organizations, self interrupting confusion, disorder which one must pick the pattern and info out of. yet not intentionally hidden clues, not secret codes, no. this is just how the man writes, as if insane. amazing. I have not yet stopped smiling as I turn each page.

10 PM – much driving today. we picked up some groceries, then sat at a cafe for a while and read. the cafe was crowded and noisy and the line was very long, but i got to read a fair amount at least. then we delivered the pickles to my parents, and a jar to my brother as well. a long drive through pines and gravel roads. i’m glad it’s still cool!

not much writing energy today… but i feel something brewing. this book is going to key some engine into starting…
